REMLIN IS ONLINE…
So. Things are changing. Again.
There is another risk to artists being posed- just like with the inception of AI generative models. If you don’t know; Meta, and it’s child companies Facebook and Instagram, will be changing their terms of service to include allowing their AI to scrape all site content you post and any linked content on the website, with no options to opt out of this. I don’t really believe there was any option to begin with, as I’ve never been able to get whatever tactics circulating to work, but I do believe this is a hard stance they are being open about taking.
“You own nothing, not even your own work. It belongs to us.”
This is terrifying. I finally made some headway on this account, I’ve finally reached new people, made friends, I’m growing. I finally feel like I have some agency in my future and no longer feel I am screaming into the void and hoping to be heard. I’m being faced with a choice I shouldn’t have to make. This isn’t fair.
There are no spaces for me. I’ve tried Newgrounds, I tried Cara, I tried Bluesky, I tried Twitter. It’s all nothing. Something has to stop this. I’m glad I made my website, but now how am I supposed to show it to anyone? How am I supposed to share? How am I supposed to connect with anyone?
Discord is on fire, Instagram is on fire, the world is on fire.
Where are we supposed to exist?
